Frank McAlpine
In
In 1989 Frank graduated from Mohawk College having studied Mechanical Engineering and began his career as a designer and eventually moved into engineering management. Frank's career evolved into technical sales where he held the position of National Sales Manager before sensing God calling him into a new and exciting vocation. In 2008, after much prayer and counsel, Frank began a new and exciting career in law enforcement where he presently works in an investigative capacity with a local police service.
Frank has been involved in the ministry at BCC since the church relocated to their old downtown location at George and Darling. Frank has served in men's ministry, children's ministry and has served as a member of the Leadership Team for many years. Frank has enjoyed his work on the Leadership Team, which includes filling the role of Chairman and preaching from time to time.
Frank and his wife Launa have been blessed with many years of marriage and just recently celebrated their 31st anniversary (2023). They have four adult children and three amazing Granddaughters!! They enjoy kayaking, bike riding, traveling and of course just about anything that involves the grandkids. They enjoy meeting new people so be sure to flag them down and say hi.
David Ralph
Dave grew up in Hamilton and is a PK (Pastor's Kid) but did not desire to be in full time Christian ministry. After as a licensed funeral director and leading a large financial services company, Dave felt a distinct call to full time ministry in 1994. Dave has a master's degree in theology from Tyndale Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Portland Seminary.
Dave joined the staff team at Brant Community Church in August of 2017 with 23 years experience of pastoral leadership and teaching. Prior to BCC, Dave was the Lead Pastor at Lakeside Church in Guelph from 1999 until 2017 and the Teaching Pastor at Harbour Fellowship Church in St. Catharines from 1994 until 1999.
Dave is married to his high school sweetheart Susan and they have three married daughters, Heather (Daine), Lindsay (Justin) and Lauren (Matt) and four wonderful grandchildren.
His favourite book is by far the Bible and he teaches in a very application focused way helping people live out the life changing truths of the Bible in a practical way. His ministry passion is to lead the church to reach its community and city. From his experience and education, Dave has a passion to meet the immediate needs of the poor and marginalized and to help them find a greater level of independence. He has worked with those who struggle with addictions, compulsive behaviours, mental health issues and trauma. His doctoral dissertation focused on how the church can play a significant role in helping an increasingly broken culture. His personal mission statement is "helping broken people find wholeness and all people find full and authentic life in Jesus."
Dave loves to watch all sports (not figure skating because he doesn't consider that a sport) live and on television and he loves to play golf and baseball. Dave likes a wide variety of music (although country is pretty low on the list), live theatre and other expressions of art. He is an amateur painter and does it mainly for stress relief (although his kids let him hang some of his art in their homes). He is a "shirt" guy and has a large collection of shirts. In fact he has more clothes than Sue does.
Derek Jones
Derek has had a front row seat to the growth of BCC as he has been there since it’s inception in 1999, as the eldest son of Gord & Suzette Jones. Derek moved away for post secondary education, where he attended Fanshawe College as well as University of Windsor. He graduated in 2014 and has since returned to Brantford where he is a Construction Project Manager in town. Derek married his high school sweetheart, Megan McAlpine, in 2015 and they have since welcomed three daughters, Lillian, Raya and Alaina, into the world.
Derek has been actively involved at BCC as a bass player on the praise team, hosting a young adults care group, and as a member of the leadership team. Derek has a heart for the Lord, for the community of BCC, and for the surrounding neighbourhoods. He is excited to experience where the Lord is leading BCC in the near future.
Brad Adams
Brad and his wife Heather first stepped into BCC in July of 2018. One of the early memories of atending BCC was how friendly everyone was week after week. Over the years Brad & his family have made BCC their home and have grown in their faith & engagement while being a part of the church family.
Since becoming a regular atendee Brad has volunteered with several teams including finance and community breakfasts and is now part of Leadership Team and acts as Treasurer for the church.
Along with Heather, they are blessed with four beautiful daughters; Sydney, Noelle, Grace and Molly. Professionally, Brad is the General Manager of a Guelph based company that develops and leases land in Toronto and Southern Ontario.
Brad and his family live on their multigenerational family farm in Brant County and along with the family enjoy spending time at their cottage in Northern Ontario.
Jonathan DuChene
In 2001 Jonathan graduated from the University of Guelph and just to make things interesting he married Krista in August of that year moved to Kingston, ON and started a new job at Xerox.
Just slightly over a year later the DuChene's relocated west to Brantford and have never left. After a brief search at a few local churches they attended BCC and remained as their family grew to five as they welcomed Micah, Seth and Leah.
Jonathan works for STERIS Canada and sells Surgical Equipment across Western Ontario and Manitoba. Jonathan also enjoys the role of Field Sales Trainer for the Canadian Surgical Team.
Over the years at BCC, Jonathan has taught Sunday School, sang with the Worship Team and led Financial Peace University a number of times. Currently Jonathan teaches in the Jr. Youth Sunday morning Class and is working at helping develop a 'Senior Youth' boys group so that Iron can sharpen Iron.
Jonathan enjoys most sports both watching and playing!
Gord Jones
Gord graduated from Ryerson University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Technology in Graphic Arts. He lived in Toronto until age 28 and in 1986, a business venture lead him to Brantford. Gord purchased and ran Crown Printing Service until 2008 when the company joined forces with Paramount Printers.
Shortly after moving to Brantford he met his soon to be wife, Suzette. In the process he was invited out to church and some months later accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour. Gord and Suzette were there to witness the birth of BCC on that snowy evening in January of 1999. Gord plays an active part at BCC whether it be on the praise team, maintenance team, a short stint as a Deacon and now as a member of the Leadership Team.
It is an honour for Gord to serve at BCC; an evangelical church which looks to the truths of Scripture as it seeks to lead and guide the congregation and share the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ to our surrounding community.
Gord and Suzette have been married for 35 years and have had the privilege of raising their two sons (now grown men) Derek & Mark. Nine years ago they welcomed into their family their daughter-in-law Megan who married Derek. We are very proud of our two sons and daughter-in-law and are proud grandparents to 3 grand-daughters, Lilly, Raya & Alaina.
